Currently, Jirina Bulger practises primarily family law along with wills, powers of attorney and estates. She also has knowledge of real estate (having practised in that area for 20 years) and condominium law. She speaks Czech and understands Slovak.
Ms. Bulger’s family law practice focuses on a negotiated and fair resolution of all issues between the parties. She encourages her clients to work toward negotiated settlements whenever possible. However, when the situation calls for it, the court process is used. Ms. Bulger has extensive experience in all areas of family law, including custody and access, child and spousal support, property claims, claims between common law spouses, cohabitation and marriage contracts, negotiation of separation agreements and so on.
Ms. Bulger has appeared before all levels of court including the Ontario Superior Court of Justice, Family Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada. Along with her partner, Mr. Sammon, Ms. Bulger was successful before the Supreme Court of Canada regarding the valuation method of pensions upon separation.
Ms. Bulger taught interviewing at the Bar Admission Course and served on the Board of the John Howard Society and a condominium board.
