Seymour Mender received his law degree from the University of Ottawa and his Bachelor of Arts Degree with Honours from Carleton University. He was called to the Bar in Ontario in 1980, joining Barnes Sammon after having spent several years with the Civil Litigation Section of the Federal Department of Justice.
Seymour has focused his practice on general corporate commercial law. His areas of practice include real estate, business purchases and sales, business re-organizations, debt and equity financings, commercial agreements, shareholder agreements, wills and estates. Seymour’s litigation practice includes personal injury, product liability, mortgage enforcement, debt recovery and wrongful dismissal matters. He is known as the “go to” person when what is needed is a practical cost effective solution to a legal problem.
A member of the Carleton County Law Association, Seymour is
also involved in the Ottawa community as a tireless volunteer and supporter
of various community and charitable endeavours. He has served on the
boards of numerous community organizations; is Past President of Hillel
Academy of Ottawa; and is currently President of Hillel Lodge of Ottawa
(a long term health care facility).
