Kellie Stewart practices primarily civil litigation and family law.
Ms. Stewart’s litigation practice is mainly in the area of personal injury of serious nature; however, it does include other civil matters including breach of contract, monies owing, wrongful dismissal, and so on. In her family law practice, Ms. Stewart tries to achieve a fair settlement by negotiations. Ms. Stewart has been involved in all aspects of family law, including custody, access, child and spousal support, property claims, trust claims, damage claims for assault, negotiation and preparation of cohabitation agreements, marriage contracts and separation agreements.
Ms. Stewart regularly appears in the Ontario Superior Court, both the civil branch and the family branch as well as the Ontario Rental Housing Tribunal, Financial Services Commission of Ontario mediations and arbitrations, and Small Claims Court. Her work includes preparation of documents and legal research for appeals to the Ontario Divisional Court, the Ontario Court of Appeal and the Supreme Court of Canada.
Ms. Stewart was called to the Bar in Ontario in February 2002, after receiving her law degree from Queen’s University in Kingston. After her articles with Barnes, Sammon LLP, Ms. Stewart joined the firm as a lawyer working for Mr. William J. Sammon and Ms. Jirina Bulger.
In her free time, Ms. Stewart enjoys Taekwon-Do, and other athletic and artistic pursuits.
